The duo Michał Górczyński / Buba Badjie Kuyateh focuses on the process of improvisation, which frees the imagination and allows musicians to communicate over cultural experiences. The songs of both musicians are born from the mutual artistic perception and combining the classical music experiences with African ones.
Buba Badjie Kuyateh
He was born in Gambia, in the city of Brikama, where the tradition of playing kora comes from, in the family of one of the most prestigious players on kora and griots. At the age of 7, when he began to learn to play the instrument, his great talent in this field was revealed.
Michał Górczyński
A clarinetist, composer, music teacher. He is a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Music. Since 1998, he has been composing music forvarious instrumental compositions, such as: Zróżnicowanie for two bassoons and a clarinet or Rondo à la krakowiak for a screaming pianist and bass clarinet. He is actively involved in improvisation and interpretation of contemporary music.
