These musicians, with jazz roots and having taken part in countless musical projects, have been traveling to the Polish countryside for years in search of knowledge and inspiration. They have also long collaborated with rural musicians, mostly from the Radom region. Studying the melodies and rhythms of the oberek, the musicians have reached fascinating conclusions combining the indigenous music of the Polish interior with the ritual music of the west coast of Africa and India, as well as with selected trends in electronic music. This unique fusionis the basis of the band's musical concept. Native melodies, traditionally played on the violin or accordion, are recreated on vintage synthesizers, and the traditional rural "jaz" has been replaced by an electronic analog drum kit. The duo was joined by young singer and dancer Joanna Sztucka, a student of the legendary singer from Gałki Rusinowskie, Maria Siwiec, and thus Tercet Imperial was born. All three approach tradition with great respect. The melodies, chants, and rhythms reta in their original form, and through their original, non-traditional performance techniques, they gain a contemporary quality and flow beyond time and space. The universality embedded in the seemingly hermetic tradition is paramount to them. The program of the concert will feature a selection of traditional melodies from the Kajok, Opoczno, and Rawa regions, accompanied by chants. Among them: a mazurek by Stanisław Skiba (Rawskie), an oberek by Koperkiewicz (Opoczyńskie), obereks by Marianna Tkaczyk, a traditional bridal unveiling song from Gałki Rusinowskie, an oberek by Maria Siwiec, and an oberek by Mirecki from Brogowa (Radomskie).
Band members: Jan Emil Młynarski – electronic drums, Piotr Zabrodzki – synthesizers, Joanna Sztucka – vocals.
