JOY! Guru is a joint project of Debashish Bhattacharya, recognized as one of the largest slide guitarists in the world, living in Indian Bengal, playing the 22-string Chaturangui instrument he created, with leading Polish musicians from the alternative jazz circle: Hubert Zemler playing drums and double bass Wojtek Traczyk.

Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya

A pioneer of the Indian slide guitar, twice nominated for a Grammy. Student of Ali Akbar Khan, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty and Brij Bhushan Kabra. In his more than fifty years of career he cooperated, among others with: John McLaughlin, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Srinivas, Bob Brozman.

Wojtek Traczyk

Double bass player, composer, graduate of the Music Academy in Katowice. He collaborates with many artists from the independent music circle - Gaba Kulka, Marcin Masecki, Wacław Zimpl. His solo projects for prepared double bass are heading towards improvisation and contemporary music.

Hubert Zemler

Drummer, composer, graduate of the Music Academy in Warsaw. He performed in symphony orchestras (National Opera, Sinfonia Varsovia), and also collaborated with renowned jazzmen (including Zbigniew Namysłowski or Wojciech Staroniewicz); he co-created many important initiatives on the Polish independent music scene.
